Made by Mexican silversmiths Los Castillo of Taxco, specifically Alfredo Villasana, this exotic Mid-century Modern hammered copper, hourglass-shaped pitcher is a striking accessory. The parrot handle is fashioned from malachite mosaic and a brass beak. It has good weight to it. The patina on the copper is original. Stamped "Mexico" on bottom. Pieces by Los Castillo are considered collectible and can be found at auctions and on sites specializing in antiques and decorative arts. The parrot itself is 9" high x 6" wide.
