Mid Century Modern Slag Glass & Aluminum 1-Light pendant, Ca. 1940 swag pendant Light Fixture.
This is a slag glass with a design that appears to be influenced by the Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts styles of the early 20th century. The light shade made from green and white marbled slag glass. The shade is shaped like a tulip or lotus flower and encased in a metal frame. Slag glass is an opaque, marbled glass that became popular in the late 1800s and was often used in lamps and other decorative items because the swirling patterns allowed light to shine through.
