This interesting flattened six sided polygon shaped banded agate snuff bottle is surprisingly light and fits snugly inside the palm. As with older bottles, the top and the flat foot are concave. The carver had spent time studying the agate pebble and decided the best way to show off the irregular concentric lines encircling the darker eye on both sides of the bottle was to give it the six sided shape. The rest of the bottle is a rich dark honey color which accentuates the white line that ran through both sides. Most stone bottles are never alike because of the inclusions, but this bottle is really unique. It is also well hollowed.
