Description
Champleve is an enameling technique that enamels raised surfaces on a cast brass or bronze object and then fired.
Not to be confused with cloisonne that solders wires in a design to a flat surface and then fills those areas with enamel.
Made in Japan, strikingly beautiful, will be passed down through the ages.
IMPORTANT INFO:
- I participate in exclusive sales for our shop followers, so the item you are eyeing may be on sale. Hit that follow button so you don't miss out!!
- If you are in love with something, please feel free to make an offer! If I can't accept outright, I will absolutely counter.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: There are no glaring defects on this spectacular piece of history other than what you would expect to see, consistent with age and use- something hundreds of years old is going to show something somewhere although this has surprisingly little.
The closest I can come to a "defect" is that the enamel is slightly fading and there's a small ding on one side and the enamel has come loose. Pitting expected.
