Chilean cactus rainstick percussion instrument crafted from a dried and hollowed-out cactus stalk, typically of the Eulychnia acida species. The exterior of the tube displays natural pitting and surface texture resulting from the removal of the original cactus spines. Internally, these instruments feature a spiral arrangement of pins or spines and are filled with small pebbles, seeds, or beads that create a sound mimicking falling rain when the tube is tilted. One end of the instrument is decorated with a wide band of magenta yarn featuring a small inset weave of orange and blue. Attached to this band are decorative tassels in blue, yellow, orange, and dark brown yarn. Both ends of the stalk are securely sealed with circular plugs. 30 in long
