An early 19th c. Wedgwood basalt candlestick in the form of a dolphin resting on a rectangular plinth decorated with scallop shells. The dolphin's tail forms the candle nozzle. Nice detail throughout including fish scales. Marked on the base WEDGWOOD.

Good condition - formerly fitted as a lamp with a small hole drilled at the back. Measures 8 1/2" tall and the base 6" x 3 3/8".
