Set of two similar Black Forest carved and hand-painted 'stag' sculptures with real antlers mounted to decorative 'wreath' plaques for wall hanging (ca. 1930s/40s, Germany).
One deer is slightly darker than the other, apparent only in direct sunlight (one appears dark brown, the other black).
Charming pieces in very good, vintage condition retaining the original paint with naturally aged patina/light wear consistent with age/use, as shown. There are also red paint spots/patches (the undercoat) revealed on one the deer.
