Large and highly detailed African cast bronze or bronze-alloy figural sculpture depicting the historic exile/capture of Oba Ovonramwen of the Kingdom of Benin following the British conquest of Benin in 1897.The elaborate narrative composition depicts the Oba centrally positioned in royal regalia and distinctive ceremonial headdress, surrounded by numerous African attendants and European colonial figures.
