Additional Details: Promotional poster for the Izarra liqueur created in 1934 by the artist Zulla. Izarra, which means “star” in Basque, is a liqueur brand created in 1906 in Hendaye, in the Basque Country, by botanist and pharmacist Joseph Grattau. Izarra is a liqueur made from a distillate composed of plants, spices and 2 macerations, prunes and walnut stain. The distillate is combined, after passing through a copper still, with Armagnac to obtain a result faithful to the original recipe. Izarra is a symbol of the Basque Country, bought in 1981 by Cointreau SA then sold in 2015 to Spirited Brands Limited, the Vedrenne group has been distributing it since 2018.
