19th century watercolor painting by August Ignatz Grosz (1847-1917) depicting military reinforcements being called up during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870. The highly detailed images of war include a of wounded soldier, horses and carriages in the foreground and a battle in the background. This is certainly one of Grosz's finest works as it shows his mastery of composition and illustration.
