Description
Athos Faccincani is one of Italy's most acclaimed painters. A vivid post-impressionist he employs vibrant color and expressive brush strokes to his canvases. His scenes depict buildings and landscapes that are familiar to his cultured audience. This particular cityscape of Florence shows the Dome of the city's principal church the Santa Maria del Fiore. The painting is displayed in an elegant yet simple gold leaf "half-round" frame. The canvas dates to the early 1980's and is in excellent condition. The frame may have some minor wear from handling.

Athos Faccincani was born in Peschiera del Garda
in 1951. He began to study painting at age 13, in the
studio of Pio Semeghini, then in 1967 - 1969 he attended
the Venetian studios of Navati, Gamba and Seibezz. In
1971 he held his first exhibition at the Historical Palace
of Peschiera del Garda. He has since successfully
exhibited and sold his paintings regularly throughout
Italy, as well as in Paris, New York, Toronto, Zurich,
Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, London, Madrid, Los
Angeles and Munich. As well, he is the subject of several
books on contemporary Italian art.
Faccincani's paintings are distinctive in their vivid
color and broad brushstroke technique. His artistic goal
is to show how simple and joyful life can be.
