"Dianne & her Attendants", (The women's summer camp, Wisconsin circa 1920) by Oscar Erickson (1883-1968), oil on canvas 22 x 26 in. in a newer flat black liner with silver gilt frame surround. Oscar Erickson was an American Midwestern artist born into a family of artisan craftsman in Milwaukee. He studied at the Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis and the Chicago Art Institute in the early 20th century. He pursued a professional career as an illustrator for various Chicago publishers. But he also developed a body of landscape painting based upon his membership in the Hoosier Salon, The Palette and Chisel Club of Chicago, and the Brown Country Art Association.
