A description of the festivities surrounding the marriage of Charles Emmanuel III (1701-1773), Duke of Savoy and King of Sardinia, to Elizabeth Therese (1711-1741) of Lorraine in Turin on 21 April 1737. The decorations were designed by Vittone, Masson, Agliaudi, Daudet, Belmondo, de Prenner, Herriset and include numerous illuminations, as well as a large fireworks display over an allegorical grotto richly decorated with statuary, the arms of the bride and groom, and an elaborate central fountain.
