Oil painting on canvas by contemporary Tennessee artist David Swanigan, "Towards the End of Day", oil on canvas, 6 x 12 inches and displayed in an Dutch ebony and silver gilt panel frame with overall dimensions 12 x 2 x 18 in. The modulated dark to light tones Swanigan uses in his painting is characteristic of the Tonalist School of American Impressionist painters. Swanigan began his career as a drummer-percussionist but turned his interest towards visual art and painting when in his 20's. He is well known in the Nashville art and music community.
