Don Hornberger (1921-2006) was a listed American painter who produced stark works in limited color palettes, frequently depicting desolate landscapes like the field seen here. With its isolated locale and the grey skies looming, this beautifully rendered work gives the feeling of a cold, crisp winter's morning. Signed in bottom right corner, painted on 12" x 24" masonite board and framed in gold painted wood to a size of 32 1/2" x 20 1/2". Wire to hang.
