Chinese landscape scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a gold, salmon and red copper silk brocade in a dragon medallions lattice pattern, signed, with numerous red and black seal marks in various sizes and shapes. With a glossy bronze silk makio and kakio at the top and black jikusaki at the bottom. The outer scroll covering is a light gold raw silk. The image size is 24 3/4" wide x 50 1/4" high. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.

In the foreground are rocky outcrops covered in dense brush with gnarled trees and pines that frame a figure beyond, sitting on the bank of a small pond dotted with exposed rocks, fed by a small stream that recedes into larger bushy, forested promontories that form the large cloud capped lake in midground feeding a small stepped waterfall. Massive palisades and rounded tors with dense habitat ascend from the mists of the further lake shore into the heavens in traditional Chinese aerial [perspective.
