NASA Space Shuttle Stowage Container Volume Liner E Prototype

Volume Liner E, NASA Part No. 10105-10072-02, Contract No. NAS9-16589. A container made of fire-resistant Nomex designed to fit a specific storage space on the Shuttle. Featuring an ILC Space Systems label sewn at center of front flap, marked "Prototype" in red pen with diagonal slashes indicating a Class III non-flight status. When flown, this stowage container normally carried the Official Flight Kit items. The offered prototype is wedge-shaped and appears to closely resemble the final design flown on the Shuttle. Container measures approximately 30" x 16" with usable range of depth from 5.5" to 24". Exhibits minor scuffing and areas of discoloration typical of age. Else, very good. Purchased as NASA surplus.
