This exquisite Japanese woodblock print titled 'The Nikko Highway' (Nikko Kaido) is a remarkable work by renowned artist Kawase Hasui, created in 1930. The print measures 10 1/2 x 15 1/4 inches and is laid down on a thin backing. It has been subjected to trimming, resulting in some loss of margins, along with minor soiling and thinning of the paper. The vivid colors remain strong and unfaded, showcasing Hasui's mastery of atmospheric landscapes. Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) was a leading figure in the shin-hanga ('new prints') movement, celebrated for his serene depictions of Japanese scenery. His collaboration with the publisher Watanabe Shzabur resulted in over 600 designs like this one. This print is not only a captivating piece of art but also a testament to Hasui's legacy in Japanese culture.

Shipping:
Pick up and buyer arranged shipping is always welcome. We offer in-house shipping for items that can ship through common carrier. All items will be professionally packed at a reasonable rate. If you paid for the item via Lodestar Auctions or Proxibid we will have your items packaged and send you a link to choose and pay for shipping on the Lodestar Auctions Website.
**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.
Issues:
All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.
Thanks for your patronage and happy bidding!
