This original 19th-century Japanese woodblock print by the renowned artist Keisai Eisen is a remarkable piece from the 'Ukiyo Nana Komachi' series. Measuring 10 x 15 1/4 inches, this work is characterized by significant overall toning and discoloration, resulting in a brownish-yellow hue. The colors, particularly the blue in the kimono, have faded from their original vibrancy. Visible soiling, foxing, and scattered stains are present throughout, including a prominent dark spot in the upper left corner. Additionally, the paper features numerous creases and wrinkles, with worn and slightly frayed edges indicative of age and handling. Heavy ink bleed-through and staining are evident on the reverse side. Despite its fair condition, this piece offers a captivating glimpse into the artistry of the Edo period. Artist Keisai Eisen (渓斎 英泉), who lived from 1790 to 1848, was well-known for his bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) that portrayed a rich sense of worldly realism and melancholy. Eisen's portfolio also includes collaborations with Utagawa Hiroshige and written works on ukiyo-e artists.

Credit card fees apply both ways. 2.9% & $0.30 (4.4% & $0.30 international) through Lodestar Auctions and 4-5% through Live Auctioneers/Proxibid . Lodestar Auctions collects 7% sales tax for Illinois residents only. Live Auctioneers/Proxibid collects sales tax for most states. Check with them for sales rates for your state. Any unpaid items will be automatically charged by Live Auctioneers/Proxibid three days after end of auction. At checkout pay for the item only, shipping will be billed later. Shipping:


Pick up and buyer arranged shipping is always welcome. We offer in-house shipping for items that can ship through common carrier. All items will be professionally packed at a reasonable rate. If you paid for the item via Lodestar Auctions or Proxibid we will have your items packaged and send you a link to choose and pay for shipping on the Lodestar Auctions Website.

**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.


Issues:

All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.
