This beautiful example of studio art ceramic made by Lapid Pottery in Israel has a hand-painted mid-century modern design. The vintage art pottery vase is signed by the artist Sarah.

Founded during the British Mandate period in 1944, Lapid turned its attention to making art pottery in 1949 under the direction of Dr. K. Moosberg. Known for its modernist designs influenced by the Scandinavian and West German pottery of the mid-century modern era, Lapid Pottery made its artistic mark with its high-quality ceramic process and the use of the subtle colors of the Israel desert in its hand-painted decoration. Lapid Pottery was in business from 1944 - 1990.

The vintage Lapid Pottery vase is in very good condition. It stand 8" tall and has a 3 1/8" diameter. The vintage Israeli art pottery is fully hallmarked on the bottom.
