Interesting Anglo-Indian Ebony wood, footed, lidded box with carved filigree bone overlay. Exceptional engraved bone details throughout with filigree and arabesque carving. These exotic boxes were crafted and retailed in Madras and Calcutta by the English and Dutch East India Companies. Made late 19th century in Vizagapatam, situated on the south east coast of India, near Madras.
