This antique French "globe de mariee" dates from the late 19th century and features a striking arrangement of gilt floral ormolu elements and symbolic motifs under its original glass dome. At the center rests a tufted red velvet cushion, traditionally used to hold the bride's wedding crown or tiara. Surrounding it are delicate floral sprays, a central rose, 2 mirror medallions, and a small bird perched above - all representing love, fidelity, and family legacy.

Housed on a black-painted wooden base, this piece is an exceptional example of Victorian-era romantic symbolism. Ideal as a wedding gift, collector's piece, or decorative accent for a romantic or historical interior. Purchased at the Marche aux Puces, Clingnancourt Paris in the mid-90s.
