History:
"The historic Omni Parker House Hotel was established in 1855 by Harvey D. Parker in the heart of downtown Boston. It holds the title of America's longest continuously operating hotel and over its 150 year history has hosted guests including Charles Dickens, John Wilkes-Booth, Babe Ruth, Judy Garland, James Dean, Ulysses S. Grant, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Colin Powell, Thomas "Tip" O'Neill and Bill Clinton.
The establishment is the culinary birthplace of the Boston Cream Pie and Parker House Rolls and counts Emeril Lagasse and Malcolm X amongst its restaurant's former wait-staff.
In the 19th Century, during America's Golden Age of Literature, Parker House was the meeting place of the legendary 'Saturday Club' where writers including Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Longfellow regularly met for conversation about the current events of the day."
