Description
Halcyon Days Enamels Trinket Box Gilbert Collection Enamel and Swarovski Crystal Design.
Every enamel box is meticulously handcrafted in England by adept craftsmen and skilled artisans using traditional 18th-century enameling techniques. The design receives careful hand-painting using specialized enamel paints. Handed down through generations, this intricate method requires steadfast commitment, guaranteeing the creation of each box as a true work of art.
Made from copper, onto which finely powdered glass is applied and fired at high temperatures, creating a jewel-like finish. The top and all sides are adorned with a beautifully intricate design, accented with stunning Swarovski crystals. Inside the lid reads: "The Corsage. Bejewelled ornaments, to be worn on the bodice of a lady's gown, first became popular in the fifteenth century; they were called 'stomachers' because they extended down to the waistline". Writing inside, on the bottom reads: "These elaborate, fashionable jewels evolved through the centuries until the waistline vanished entirely in the 1920s; past examples often were converted into smaller, more wearable brooches by the re-setting of their precious stones."
The company, Halcyon Days, holds Royal Warrants, solidifying its reputation for exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Halcyon Enamels stamp on bottom of box.
