This large six-sided handpainted ginger jar comes from Nove, Italy, an important ceramics center of about 100 shops. It features finely detailed painting of tri-color roses in pink, blue and yellow and swirling leaflike motifs. According to Luxe Adventure Traveler, "Known from some of the best handcrafted ceramics in all of Italy, you can find the works in many US stores such as Williams-Sonoma, Tiffany's, and Lenox".

On base: Marked with initials AD and a star with a trail. Marked also LVI which is 56 in Roman numerals.
