MID-ATLANTIC PAINTED YELLOW PINE OPEN BOX, nailed construction with a sheet-iron band around the edge and over the arched ends securing the whole, featuring canted sides with arched ends and cut-out handles. Retains an early blue-green painted surface. Second half 19th century. 15 1/2" HOA, 23 1/4" x 16 1/2" OA.

Good overall condition with minor to moderate scattered wear; an early repair on the interior repaired a break on one of the ends near the top, the early paint is present over the repair indicating its age.
