Description
AMERICAN PAINTED PINE BEE BOX, two-piece form, nailed construction, the upper section of house-like form with a pitched roof, the lower section of rectangular form with a slot at the bottom for the bees to enter. Retains an old blue-painted surface in addition to a vintage smoker and bee keeper's hat to the interior. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 20 1/2" HOA, 24" x 16 1/2" OA.

Condition
Good overall condition with moderate scattered wear; lacking a board (possibly with some pieces retained to the interior) which fits between the top and bottom on the front side; the interior with moderate rodent damage, odor, and residue; rodent damage to the hat.
