Description
An 18th-century "Vue d'Optique" (Optique View) or perspective print depicting a bustling harbor scene of Calais, France, titled "Le Port de Calais". The hand-colored engraving features numerous sailing ships, figures on the docks, and a prominent fortified tower. Housed in a custom wooden frame with a cream mat. These prints were designed to be viewed through an optique viewer, creating a three-dimensional illusion.
Condition
Very Good - Minor wear to frame consistent with age. Print appears well-preserved with vibrant colors, some slight discoloration to mat.
