Mathias Bauerle, St. Georgen, Germany, chiming hall clock manufactured for Benjamin Stafford Newton in a very impressive architectural mahogany case, pediment top above four fully turned columns on hood, full length beveled glasses on the arched trunk door and sides, flanked by two large turned columns, all resting on a base with carved paw feet, engraved brass dial with silvered chapter ring and applied brass arabic numerals, subsidiary silvered rings for seconds, chime / silent selector, and tune selector, moon phase in arch, eight day, three train brass movement stamped by maker driven by three brass weights and chiming a selection of either Westminster or Eight Bells tunes on nine tubular bells at the quarter hours

dial with plaque engraved "Purchased 1903 Benjamin Stafford Newton" above 6, overall excellent condition wiht original finish and only minimal wear and minor nicks and scrapes, felt lining absent from rear of hood, dial silvering with some darkening, moon phase in good condtion, ACCESSORIES: Pendulum, Three Brass Weights, Nine Tubular Bells, circa 1903
