Description
Pair of George III style early 20th Century Gilt Wood Mirrors. The mirror plate is within a carved and moulded asymmetrical cartouche frame in the Rococo manner of Thomas Chippendale. Mirrors have Phoenix Bird Toppers. Frames have intricate scrolls, curls, and leaf motifs and the cartouche shape gives them a lively, dynamic feel. The Phoenix birds are often associated with rebirth and regal power, adding a sense of grandeur to the mirror tops. This pair of mirrors gives an impression of substantiality and importance, making them perfect for a grand living room, hallway, or entry.
