Description
This is a beautiful TK Czechoslovakia Cider Pitcher. It is signed "P. Lichtsinn" on the side near the top left hand side of the handle.
The Pitcher has a lovely opalescent porcelain gold gilt with grapes, grape vines, and floral motif. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. There has been some slight gilt loss on the handle as a result of age and normal use as seen in the photos.
Per Kovels.com, "The TK (Thun) Chechoslovakia Mark indicates the Pitcher was made by Count Thun's Porcelain Factory in Klosteria, Bohemia (presently Klasterec, Czech Republic). The factory was founded in 1794 by Franz Joseph Thun and J.N. Weber. It was nationalized after World War II and several changes in ownership followed. This mark was used from 1918 until at least the 1980's.
The Pitcher measures 6" Tall x 9" Wide from the handle to spout x 7.5" Deep. It weighs 2 pounds 15.4 ounces or 47.41 ounces or 1344 grams.
