Description
A beautifully engineered pair of midcentury weighted sterling silver candelabra by Duchin Creation-with considerably more versatility than their formal silhouette first suggests.
Each candelabrum is constructed in removable sections, allowing the pair to be styled three different ways: fully assembled as stately three-light candelabra, with the branching arms removed as tall single candlesticks, or reduced once more to create a shorter pair of single candlesticks.
It is the sort of thoughtful vintage design that makes beautiful objects genuinely useful. Set them fully assembled down the center of a holiday or wedding table, pare them back to tall candlesticks for a mantel, or use the lower configuration when a quieter bit of candlelight is called for.
The design itself is timeless: slender sweeping arms rise from a stacked, urn-form center column, balanced by broad circular feet with raised decorative borders. The sterling has been intentionally left unpolished, retaining the softly mottled tarnish and surface character acquired over decades.
Each is stamped STERLING / DUCHIN CREATION / WEIGHTED on the underside. The weighted construction provides stability while allowing the exterior to be fashioned in sterling silver.
American, approximately mid-20th century.
Measures approximately 11.5" H * 11" W * 3.5" D each when fully assembled
In very good vintage condition with tarnish, oxidation, light surface scratching and wear consistent with age and use. Intentionally left unpolished to preserve the naturally aged character of the sterling; the next owner may polish if a brighter finish is preferred. Convertible components are intact and assemble as intended.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: In very good vintage condition with tarnish, oxidation, light surface scratching and wear consistent with age and use. Intentionally left unpolished to preserve the naturally aged character of the sterling; the next owner may polish if a brighter finish is preferred. Convertible components are intact and assemble as intended.
