Description
195. Wright, Frank Lloyd . Typed Letter Signed "F. LL. W" to Edgar Tafel concerning two projects which Tafel was then supervising. 4to, written on single side of Taliesin stationary, with holograph annotations; light wear, creased at folds, light hand-soiling, small open tear at lower margin.Tafel was Wright's former apprentice and worked with Wright on such important designs as Fallingwater, the Johnson Wax Building, and several "Usonian" houses.
(Scottsdale, Arizona), April 7, 1941 [400/600]
"Dear Edgar: Expect some money from Nesbitt within the next few days and will send some to put where the shoe pinches worst.By "letting the house alone" I meant to do not more than essential -- like the heating, because I am contemplating something radical where the house is concerned.Wish I could borrow money too -- I suppose owing it overtime is much the same thing?I didn't mean to even insinuate that any work you do in the right spirit (even if a mistake) is ever wasted. So cheer up, son, and carry on the happy days.I could see no junipers in the photographs where they were so badly needed. Did they perhaps blow out or something? We'll be seeing you all soon, now -Affectionately,"
