Trained in the classical tradition and later transformed by the mystical poetry of the thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi, Khavarani developed a lyrical idiom of sweeping, luminous color. His work has been recognized by the Library of Congress and noted in the Congressional Record. Titled "The Way," this composition draws the viewer down a verdant forest waterway, lush walls of foliage in emerald, teal, and jade parting to reveal a glowing passage of light at the center, mirrored in the still water below.
