Description
A signed, limited-edition giclée on canvas by Kamran Khavarani (Iranian-American, b. 1941), the architect and painter credited by UCLA art historian Albert Boime as the founder of "Abstract Romanticism." Trained in the classical tradition and later transformed by the mystical poetry of the thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi, Khavarani developed a lyrical idiom of sweeping, luminous color. His work has been recognized by the Library of Congress and noted in the Congressional Record. Titled "The Way," this composition draws the viewer down a verdant forest waterway, lush walls of foliage in emerald, teal, and jade parting to reveal a glowing passage of light at the center, mirrored in the still water below. The vertical format and the luminous opening give the work a contemplative, almost spiritual sense of journey and arrival, fully in keeping with the artist's Rumi-inspired vision. Signed in gold at the lower right. The piece is a giclée on canvas, issued as an Artist Proof from a limited edition (numbered 2/99). It is beautifully presented in a quality custom frame a silver-toned molding with a linen mat that sets off the cool greens of the image with framed dimensions of 33 x 45" (image 40 x 28"). It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, confirming authorship, edition, and reproduction rights. A distinguished, richly atmospheric work by a recognized contemporary artist a signed limited-edition canvas, custom framed and fully documented, well suited to a serious collector of abstract art or a refined contemporary interior. 33 x 45" framed
