Description
$990. A deep cobalt-navy runner filled end to end with scrolling vine and small blossoms in soft pink, ivory and sage, framed by an ivory border carrying the same ornament. The runner is the oldest functional format in carpet weaving, developed for long narrow rooms and colonnaded halls well before it was ever adapted to the Western hallway. Working an allover floral along a length of twelve feet requires the weaver to hold the repeat in register without the anchoring reference a medallion would provide, and the discipline shows in how cleanly the vine meets itself from one end to the other. The dark ground carries well in a corridor. Design pattern: Allover floral and vine, Kashan. Size: 2'6" x 12'4". Gallery Collection.
