Description
$3,375. A rich ruby field carries the fine herati lattice, centred on a small ivory and grey hexagonal medallion, with layered navy and ivory borders building depth at the margins. The herati pattern, a diamond enclosing a rosette flanked by four curved lancet leaves, is the most widely distributed field design in classical carpet art, adopted across virtually every weaving region and instantly recognisable to collectors; the curve of those leaves suggested fish circling a pool to the weavers who first named it. The Bidjar construction beneath it is exceptionally dense, each weft hammered into place to produce a rigid, long-wearing fabric. A well-proportioned size for a seating area or a smaller dining table. Design pattern: Allover herati with hexagonal medallion, Bidjar. Size: 5'6" x 8'0". Gallery Collection.
