“It takes time to get back into the rhythm of nature...” – The Artist
Scott Christensen’s Deep Lake captures the majesty and solitude of Wyoming’s Wind River Mountain Range with luminous restraint. Towering granite walls rise sharply from the still, glassy water, their faceted planes articulated in confident, economical brushwork that suggests both mass and movement. Snowfields drift between the peaks, cooling the palette and drawing the eye toward the distant pass, where sky and stone quietly meet. In the foreground, sun-struck evergreens and warm rocks provide a counterpoint of texture and color, anchoring the viewer at the water’s edge and inviting a slow, contemplative gaze. Christensen’s nuanced handling of light—soft sky, crisp reflections, and atmospheric blue shadows—conveys both grandeur and quiet intimacy, evoking the timeless calm of an alpine morning.
