The hexagonal baluster body is moulded with vertical ribs, a flared neck and a pair of angular tubular lug handles. It is covered overall in a variegated violet and blue glaze, thinning to brown at the ribs and edges, and raised on an unglazed stepped hexagonal foot; the recessed base bears an Imperial poem inscription of Qianlong period.
