Description
Age: Pre-1800,Style: Georgian,Composition: Sterling Silver,Country of Origin: Ireland Presented is an antique, Irish sterling silver gravy or sauce boat made during the mid to late 1700s. This 18th century piece is done in a classic form and it is completely hand chased with flower and scroll designs. The front has a wonderful quality crest of an armored hand holding a spear. The 3 feet and handle are very decorative. The underside is marked with the crowned harp for sterling silver purity and the Hibernia mark for Dublin used between 1731 and 1786. This piece is in great overall condition for its age. There is an old, solder repair to the underside. The boat measures 9 inches from handle to spout and is 5 inches tall. Weight: 394 grams. Capacity: 16 ounces or 500 milliliters.
