The vase itself is a truly exceptional work of art, decorated in the Famille Rose/Rose Mandarin style with vibrant pink, green, rust red and blue enamels. The large panels around the body depict a lively scene with warriors on horseback and on foot on one side, with a court scene on the other, all of the figures richly detailed and well painted. The rest of the body is decorated with colorful chrysanthemums and other flowers on leafy branches, as well as birds, and lotus reserves. The neck of the vase has two smaller scenes again with finely detailed and intricately outfitted figures, and the ears are done as figural facing tigers in green. The vase stands on a wooden base and has been outfitted with a matching wooden collar at the mouth, supporting a socket for a standard lightbulb and a harp for a lamp shade. This lamp is in excellent condition. The lamp functions, and the wiring is modern enough to have the wider grounding prong, but it could easily be re-wired. The vase itself is in great shape, with no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. There is only some minor fretting around the neck where it was cut down for conversion into a lamp. PLEASE NOTE: The lamp will be shipped with the harp disassembled, to reduce shipping costs and risk of damage, but re-assembly is very straightforward. The maximum height to the top of the harp is approximately 36 inches, while the height just to the socket is about 27 1/4 inches. The height of the vase alone is about 24 3/4 inches (including the wood) or about 21 3/4 to the neck without the wood. Both the base and the maximum diameter of the vase itself measure about 9 3/8 inches.
