Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft" (Properties of the Austrian State Railway Company). Original label with typographic title on the lower mount. LITERATURE Monika Faber, Andreas Groll 1812-1872, cat. Wien Museum 2015, p. 189 (same series).
This and the second lot are very rare works by Austria's first major architectural and documentary photographer. Groll's pioneering images of architecture, industry and the expanding railway network rank among the most important photographic records of the Habsburg Empire.
