in the form of a lion, with a label verso inscribed 'Carved out of the Beech Foundations of the Cathedral Church of Winchester, Built 1087-1093'

19cm wide, 9.5cm deep, 20cm high

Provenance:

Reputedly carved from the beech foundations of Winchester Cathedral.

Condition Report:

Fairly good condition overall. With a few small cracks and abrasions, etc. Some white speckling present. With hanging brackets (would benefit from tightening).
