Footnote:
Andrei Belichenko (b.1974) and Maria Boohtiyarova (b.1975) are known for their highly finished, romantic figurative paintings, often depicting women and children in dreamlike domestic interiors. The Wedding Dress is a characteristic example, combining the artists' signature motifs of lace, flowers and feminine elegance. Maria, variously described as Belichenko's wife, muse and artistic collaborator, is said to have painted the floral elements; her contribution is reflected in the joint signature.
