A matching two-piece set comprising a table lighter and a circular ashtray, crafted from glazed off-white ceramic with relief-molded decoration. The lighter is modeled in the form of a miniature beer stein with a single handle. Both the stein and the center of the ashtray feature high-relief scenes depicting a man in traditional lederhosen and a woman in a dirndl dancing in an Alpine landscape with a chalet and mountains in the background. The relief details are accented with a gray wash for definition. Both pieces are finished with gold-toned pinstripe gilding along the rims and bases. The lighter mechanism, integrated into the top of the stein, is constructed of gold-toned metal. On the underside of the lighter, a circular adjustment screw is stamped with the characters EXCEL arranged around the edge of the screw head.
