This artwork titled "Aftermath" 1981 is a color serigraph on Wove paper by noted American artist Roy Ahlgren, 1927-2011 It is hand signed, titled, dated and numbered 2/150in pencil by the artist. The image size is 17.85 x 25.75 inches, sheet size is 22.25 x 30 inches. It is in excellent condition, has never been framed.
About the artist:
Roy Ahlgren (1927-2011 ) was born in Erie, PA. He earned a BS in art education at the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a designer for Marx Toy Company. He is primarily self-taught as an artist. After college he worked for the US Information Agency in Washington DC, and the Butler Art Institute in Youngstown, OH. Ahlgren taught at Edinboro University and Erie Technical Memorial High School. His work is in permanent collections of: the US Information Agency in Washington DC; the Butler Art Institute in Youngstown, OH; the Minneapolis Museum of Art; the Seattle Art Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Fredrikstad, Norway; and other museums in Japan, Poland, Viet Nam, Brazil and the Netherlands. Ahlgren has exhibited at the National Academy of Design Annual in New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the National Exhibition of Prints, the Library of Congress, and the International Exhibition of Graphic Art in Frechen, Germany.
