Flame-Stitched Needlework Pocketbook
American, probably Pennsylvania, c. 1811. Note in purse reads "This pocket book was made and worked by Catharine Denison, my great grandmother on my mother's side in 1811, when she was 67 years old. She spun and colored the crewel or worsted that it is worked with, it was given to me by my mother, Clara Sweet, on June 14th 1883, she being in her 84th year. Francine C. Kettering."
Some losses, wear, surface distress.
