For the Civil War buff: a pair of framed pen and ink drawings that appeared in the actual Harper's Weekly newspaper in 1865.

While old newspapers are not of great value, this listing is not simply newspaper pages. In the genre of "historical art", these newspaper pages were framed as art drawings that depict the Civil War era.

The focus of the drawings is General Philip Sheridan, who assumed command under both Generals Ulysses Grant and Robert E. Lee.

The framed page from the June 10, 1865 Harper's Weekly issue is captioned: "Grand Review at Washington-Sheridan's Cavalry Passing Through Pennsylvania Avenue. May 23, 1865."

The framed page from the June 24, 1865 Harper's Weekly issue is captioned: "Sheridan and His Generals". This drawing also includes Generals Merritt, Crook, Forsyth and Custer.

Each newspaper page is professionally enclosed in an attractive gold frame-and green matting with a gold beveled edge.

Note that the newspaper pages are from the 19th century, but these pages were framed in the 1990s for a descendant of Philip Sheridan.
