Bio: Born on June 19, 1958, in the city of Floriano, Piaui, Fernando Duarte has resided in
Olinda/Recife since 1966. A graduate in Civil Engineering from the
Federal University of Pernambuco, he actively participated in the Student Movement. A
career employee of Banco do Brasil since 1982, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the
Pernambuco Bank Workers' Union. He retired from Banco do Brasil in 2014.
He served as Deputy Secretary of Culture for the City of Recife, President of the
Recife City Culture Foundation, Executive Secretary of Culture for the City of
Recife, and Secretary of Culture for the State of Pernambuco.
