An artist's proof lithograph by the American artist Jack Levine (1915-2010). Titled "Art Lover," this lithograph depicts a figure in 18th or early 19th century clothing holding a magnifying glass with a blue and yellow fleur de lis background. Signed to the lower right, the print is marked "artist's proof" to the lower left and is unframed.

Jack Levine was an American painter who specialized in satirical and social commentary regarding class systems and authority structures in the west. Levine enrolled in art classes at the Museum Fine Arts School of Boston and received free art lessons from Dr. Denman Ross of Harvard University who recognized his exceptional talent. Unlike many artists of the time period Levine did not stray from figural subject matter for abstract compositions. His work can now be found int he collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. among others.
