An antique Art Nouveau, silverplate three-piece tea service by Van Bergh Silver Plate Co. This antique three piece tea set was inherited from our Grandma Graham. It consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug/creamer. Each piece of this 1915-1920 Art Nouveau tea service has a plain rectangular form with in-curved corners. The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished. The upper portion of the body and shoulders of each piece are plain and unembellished.
The teapot is fitted with a hinged cover surmounted by an impressive circular urn style finial. The set is fitted with the original plain angular handles with a carved scroll style thumbpiece.
Maker: Van Bergh Co, before it became a subsidiary of Oneida in 1926.
Date: 1915-1920.
Provenance: Family inheritance in Salt Lake City, Utah.
